Hunting and Events Like No Other

My name is Reid Lester. I was born, raised and still live in Jackson Mississippi. I am married to Lauren Drake, and we have been married for 23 years. We have 4 children, Drake, Landry, Carson, and Wilson.  We attend Christ United Church in Jackson. 

After graduating high school from Jackson Academy, I attended Mississippi State, and earned a business degree with a minor in biology.  I worked briefly in the investment world and then went back to school, and was accepted into Dental School at UMC.  I graduated as a Dentist in 2009, and then moved to New Orleans, where I completed a 3 year Surgery Fellowship in Periodontics.  

In 2012, my family moved back to Jackson and I entered private practice, where I started Mississippi Periodontic Specialists Group.  Since that time, I have been practicing Periodontics in Jackson and Natchez.  I have and continue to teach part-time at the UMC School of Dentistry, and at the LSU School of Dentistry.  I received my Board Certification in 2012, and have served on several dental committees including the dental association, and the admissions board for dental school.

Dating back to when I was a kid, I have always had a love for the outdoors, whether it was woods or waters.  I remember as a kid going to my family farm with my dad almost every weekend, and hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, but most importantly spending time with friends and family.  

One of my favorite things to do in life is to take someone hunting that has never been.  It is not all about the kill.  It is the whole experience that is fun to share.  The preparation, The sighting in, The hunt, The kill, The cleaning, The meals, The sitting around fires… It all creates the experience. 

I have started The Pursuit, in Pickens, MS.  The purpose of The Pursuit is to provide a safe, family friendly, outdoor venue.  The property will be focused on the ultimate hunting experience which includes bird hunting, and sporting clays, as well as lake-side golf, fishing, riding, and other outdoor activities.  Good meals and campfires will be a part of the experience.  The Pursuit will also be open to corporate retreats, as well as outdoor weddings.
